Carpenter Bee

Xylocopa

Carpenter bees are large bees with blue-black bodies, and they are covered with yellow and orange hairs. They build their nests in locations where bare or painted wood is exposed. They bore into wood parallel to the surface, leaving the eggs in these holes.

These bees produce wood damage and staining.
